Description
June 7-14, 2025 German Retreat- In-person at Lotus Lake and on Zoom
Karma, the universal law of cause and effect, weaves through every aspect of our human experience, shaping our lives in both seen and unseen ways. In this retreat, Rinpoche will offer profound commentary on her book, How to Change Your Karma, inviting us to explore the vast, unfolding nature of our spiritual potential—how it is not fixed, but continuously shaped by our intentions, actions, and the karmic forces at play. Rather than viewing karma as an unchangeable fate, we are invited to see it as a living, evolving force—one that responds to our awareness and choices. Through Dharma teachings, group and individual meditation practice, we will deepen our understanding of how we can consciously shift limiting patterns and open pathways toward greater wisdom, compassion, and inner freedom.
This retreat welcomes all seekers—whether stepping onto the Dharma path for the first time or returning to deepen an existing practice.
Participants will receive the sacred empowerment and practice of White Tara – a powerful meditation for cultivating long life, wisdom, and healing.
Going on Retreat at Lotus Lake Buddhist Center
Retreat at Doonkar Retreat House
White Conch retreats are held on the sacred consecrated monastery and retreat grounds of Domo Geshe Rinpoche called Lotus Lake Buddhist Center and Monastery. While resting under the pines of the very quiet Meditation or Jetavana Groves, you will sense the aura of a Pure Land.
Indoor rooms are in the quietude of the Doonkar Retreat House. Enjoy three excellent vegetarian meals per day with homemade bread, our own yogurt, kombucha and many other gourmet specialties. Practice walking meditation on the kora path around a beautiful lotus pond with the large Buddha statue at the head.
On group retreats there are daily dharma teachings in the spacious Temple and informal sharing by Rinpoche or senior students over breakfast or lunch. Whether seated in Norbu’s Great Room under the Wish Granting Tree, visiting the organic vegetable and flower gardens or are in your own room, the environment has been specially created to facilitate the quieting of your mind. Learn without distractions under the care of our kind retreat master and teacher.
Accommodations
Delicious vegetarian meals and accommodations are included in the retreat cost. Double room indoor accommodations are at Doonkar Retreat House.
Retreat Environment on Zoom
Participants are expected to create their own conducive home environment to support the retreat process. Scheduled and more extensive personal meditation practice is a key element to bring the benefit of retreat. As is customary for all teaching retreats, Rinpoche encourages participants to attend scheduled activities (i.e., teachings, discussions, group meditations) and to ensure a private and secluded experience during the retreat time. Cell phones and computers are a serious distraction to the retreat experience, so it is in your best interest to unplug.
