Domo Geshe Rinpoche has been actively involved in training a select group of her students to become Dharma teachers.  Under Rinpoche’s guidance these White Conch student lamas now offer many public programs on the foundations of Buddhist practice. These programs are listed on the White Conch calendar and details can be found in the store.  The My Resources section also contains videos of student lama teachings. Lama  Pema

Ngawang Pema  (Lisa Antoniotti, APC)  is an ordained monastic of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, has a BS in Business, and is a registered yoga teacher in Alignment Yoga’s 500-hour training. She is the Co-Founder of Joyful Path Meditation and Healing Center, where she serves as a teacher and administrator.  Pema began practicing mindfulness meditation in 1995 and Tibetan Buddhist meditation in 2001. She began an Ashtanga yoga practice in 1998 and completed her first Alignment Yoga teacher training in 2008. Pema has is certified in Yoga of the Heart with Nischala Joy Devi, former Director of Stress Management for Dean Ornish’s Lifestyle Heart Trial and co-founder of the Commonweal Cancer Program. Pema has been a student of Domo Geshe Rinpoche since 2001, ordained since 2003, and a Lama in training since 2004.  Pema is studying in the Masters of Adult Education Program with an emphasis on Human Services and Counseling at UW Platteville. Pema also studies Authentic Leadership and Circle Sigma principles with Gregory Rouillard and is participating in Level 2 training in Domo Geshe Rinpoche’s Conscious End of Life program.  Pema has over 20 years experience working in various aspects of state government, nonprofit and corporate America, including management consulting.  She currently serves on the Meriter Association of Spiritual Caregiver’s Faith Ambassador steering committee, helping to educate faith communities about Advance Care Planning. Pema is past President of the Board of Directors for White Conch and is currently leading program development at Joyful Path. She serves as the Program Coordinator for Foundations of Yogic Healing program

 

thekchenLama Thekchen

Ngawang Thekchen (Mitzi Forbes RN PhD) is an ordained monastic of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and holds a PhD with a major in nursing and a minor in psychology. She has published in both professional and general journals, and her primary research area was ‘Hope’ as well as research in Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She is an Aromatherapy instructor,  Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, has training in Tibetan Medicine, and Transformative Mindfulness Methods Training Level 3. She has been a student of Rinpoche since 2003, ordained since 2007 and a lama in training since 2007. She is a facilitator in the Foundations of Yogic Healing program,  and a hospice volunteer as part Rinpoche’s Conscious End-of-Life Training, Level 2.  She teaches across the Midwest and offers Nursing CE programs on Loving Kindness nationally – her weekly programs are broadcast on conference call and skype.

 

Lama Wangmo

Ngawang Wangmo (Cricket Faust RN MSN) is an ordained monastic of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and holds a Masters of Science in Nursing. She has taught nursing at the college level, and provides direct care for clients in a local clinic. She has been a student of Rinpoche since 2004 and a lama in training since 2007. She is a facilitator in the Foundations of Yogic Healing program,  and also a hospice volunteer as part of Rinpoche’s  Level 2 Conscious End-of-Life Training. She teaches Sustainable Living and Probiotic Health Strategies, leads group meditations and teaches regularly in the Practical Buddhist Wisdom series at Joyful Path.

 

 

LamaNgakmo Gyalmo portrait Gyalmo

Ngakmo Gyalmo (Kathy Levac RN MS MQT)  is ordained in the Ngakphang tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, and holds a  BS in Nursing and MS in Management. Specializing in implementing change in healthcare, she has lead quality initiatives in preventive health and over 20 diseases. She is an author and national speaker on health issues,  a Medical Qigong Therapist (in Traditional Chinese Medicine), and a certified wellness coach.  Gyalmo has helped many with her Integrative Health wellness programs, specializing in programming for seniors and people with disabilities. She has been a student of Rinpoche since 2004, and a lama in training since 2008. She is a facilitator for the Foundations of Yogic Healing program at Joyful Path, and a hospice volunteer participating in the Level 2 Conscious End-of-Life Training offered by Domo Geshe Rinpoche.  She has served as the Executive Director of the White Conch Dharma Center since 2012.  Gyalmo offers a weekly Dharma In Daily Life discussion on conference call- see White Conch calendar for more information.

 

Lama Chonyi

Ngakmo Chonyi (Betty Kramer MSW PhD) is ordained in the Ngakphang tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, and is a Social Work Professor  at the University of Wisconsin. She is a nationally recognized gerontology researcher, scholar and educator who helped to establish competencies and a national research agenda for social work research in palliative and end-of-life care. As a Fellow of the Center for Contemplative Mind in Society, she developed curriculum highlighting the importance of mindfulness for compassionate and ethically based social action, therapeutic intervention, and professional self-care. Chonyi has 28 years of experience with various forms of meditation, and a long standing interest in Eastern perspectives on mental health.  She has been a student of Rinpoche since 2003,  ordained in 2004, and a lama in training since 2010. Chonyi  is also a facilitator in the Foundations of Yogic Healing Program,  and is the mid-west facilitator for the Conscious End-of-Life Training Program with Grand Transitions Institute & Hospice. Chonyi offers CE programs nationally on Buddhist Perspectives on End-of-Life Care for White Conch.
