Advertising description: Karma, the universal law of cause and effect, weaves through every aspect of our human experience, shaping our lives in both seen and unseen ways. In this retreat, Rinpoche will offer profound commentary on her book, How to Change Your Karma, inviting us to explore the vast, unfolding nature of our spiritual potential—how it is not fixed, but continuously shaped by our intentions, actions, and the karmic forces at play. Rather than viewing karma as an unchangeable fate, we are invited to see it as a living, evolving force—one that responds to our awareness and choices. Through Dharma teachings, group and individual meditation practice, we will deepen our understanding of how we can consciously shift limiting patterns and open pathways toward greater wisdom, compassion, and inner freedom.
This retreat welcomed all seekers—whether stepping onto the Dharma path for the first time or returning to deepen an existing practice. Participants received the sacred empowerment and practice of White Tara – a powerful meditation for cultivating long life, wisdom, and healing.

She discusses dopamine and consciousness, and the steady mind to keep dopamine for inner practice enthusiasm. What does White Tara want from me? What does it mean to love a deity?
Spiritual Potential Timeline
Rinpoche begins with a reflection on our alone time as a child. We then discuss how it changed as a teenager. We need to unravel the social influences we had taken on to discover ourselves again. Our Unique Karmic Life
Rinpoche begins with the question: What is your opinion of life and living things? Do I really need to have an opinion about so many things? Rinpoche is offering commentary on page 17 Our Unique Karmic life. She discusses how our self image affects our life, and then adds others (people, buildings, ect). This world is not suitable for an exclusive individual experience, it is a shared experience. How do we get along in this space? We Seek and learn and get along based on commonalities. Experiences have changed the way we trust others. Mind training to break down barriers in trust with others.
Commonalities and Trust
Rinpoche discusses how our karma is different from others and so our reactions to experiences are different. She discusses relationships and understanding others. Someone uses our innocent trust and inability to see their true motivations to manipulate and use us. We are being influenced by others now and from the past and by society. trained to be externally motivated in how we seek life – behaviors more important than how we think. She discusses internal commonalities like values. Society places the value of individuals based on how they look and behave, rather than their deep nature. We are operating from a deluded mind. They are not in their right mind so not make good decisions

The World Outside Me
Rinpoche summarizes the neutral to pleasant karma junction and how it creates start up karma and spontaneously leads to happiness. She then discusses what is outer phenomena (world outside myself) and asks the question What is our opinion of the world outside myself? What is our opinion of our body? Our mind? Outer objects? Cosmos? We are distracted by outer phenomena.
6-12-2025 day 6
Perceptions of Outer Phenomena
Rinpoche begins with How do we see, perceive this outer phenomena?
What influences create, damage or enhance our perceptions about outer phenomena? She discusses what influences our perception. She described the Mahayana view to take responsibility for toxicity of actions in the world that created this world situation now. Many factors create our opinions of the world. She then discusses our close zone and our interplay and sensitivity to the environment, and we do not need to have an opinion of it. It is what it is. Subtle experience of being alive. Be alive with normal perceptions without a reactive experience of life.
The Unreliability of the senses
Rinpoche asks how do our senses inform us of the data available to us? Same data but different response according to our mood. Our senses can operate normally or not based on our mental state. Living by fleeting moods is ultimately unsatisfying – a superficial, externalized person. What is the difference between current sensory experiences and our memories? Our past actions create strong karmic actions, a nearly unbreakable web. She discusses habits and addictions and how we are the creator of our own karma. Must give up trying to make self comfortable by relying on samsara. We create our own karma so we can change.

She discusses our spiritual potential To awaken and benefit others. In light of my spiritual potential, what would I lose by achieving that? Rinpoche discusses how the mechanism of karma works with examples and analogy of an above ground swimming pool. She ends with a contemplation of the uselessness of suffering and the complete foolishness of samsara.

She then asks “Do we think karma as cause and effect is empowering or limiting, and why?“ She discusses how we are a mix of good and bad karma ripening. How does karma limit us? How does karma create the desire and compulsion to solidify identity or loyalty?
Karmic Laws
Rinpoche discusses the danger we are in. She then discusses how All beings in form (lowest to bodhisattvas) are subject to karma because they have form. The potential for awakening negative karma is right there. What is the solution? Quiet life, merit, virtuous thoughts. She discusses embracing karmic laws and living within them, and how it shifts our behaviors toward wisdom and compassion. Understand how karma works and use it to our advantage. Respect karma.
