A plague of loneliness is disturbing so many during this time of isolation from friends and family. Let’s work together to uplift ourselves so that we will be better off when all of this is over.
2021-03-19 The causes of loneliness and how we cope
Rinpoche leads a discussion that explores the causes of loneliness from acute issues like the isolation in the COVID19 pandemic to chronic loneliness. She also compares lonliness to being alone. Loneliness will not heal itself, we must make effort to reach out to those we feel safe with or speak with a professional. She ends with teaching the technique to “Lift the Inner Eye” as a way to increase feeling alive, well being, and connectedness.

Rinpoche begins by talking about how we are habituated to loneliness and gathers feedkback on in men or wormen are more lonely, and how each group copes with it. She reads from SSR June 12 on loneliness and illusion and discusses how Buddhism views it with a discussion of outer and inner life. She then reads a sutra on Buddha’s advice to become an “Ideal lover of soletude”. She ends with a discussion of what is solitude.
