HOW DONATIONS HELP
White Conch Dharma Center is supported by the generosity and kindness of donors and benefactors. Your donations aid our ability to further the spread of the Dharma through Domo Geshe Rinpoche’s teachings and helps ensure that the Lotus Lake Buddhist Retreat Center and Monastery will remain active and viable for generations to come.
“The Fifth Turning of the Wheel of Dharma will only happen in your heart.”

DONATION TYPES
- One-time donations by Check, Credit Card/Pay pal
- Recurring monthly gift
- You can pick how the donation will be used
- Planned Giving
PLANNED GIVING – WHAT IS IT?
Planned giving and making bequests is a method of supporting non-profits like White Conch Dharma Center. It enables individuals to make gifts in addition to regular annual gifts. It can include a direct transfer of an asset or estate, and tax planning techniques that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on the donor’s. Please be sure to consult your personal legal, financial and tax advisors when planning your gift. Give us a call at 715-600-2564.
Depending on the size of your estate there may be considerable tax advantages to planned giving.
TYPES OF PLANNED GIVING
- In your will
- Gifts of Retirement Plans
- Gifts of Life Insurance
- Endowment Gifts
- Gifts of securities, real estate, vehicles
PLANNED GIVING – Gifts in your will
You can designate White Conch Dharma Center in your will. There are three ways to do this. In your will you can:
- Name a specific gift amount for White Conch Dharma Center
- Assign a percentage of your total estate to White Conch Dharma Center
- Designate a share of the remainder after gifts to your heirs
PLANNED GIVING – Gifts in your Retirement Plans
You can name White Conch Dharma Center as the beneficiary of your pension, 401K, IRA or other retirement plans. A retirement asset, such as an IRA account, makes an excellent bequest to us. If the IRA were given to your family, much of the value may be lost through estate and income taxes. By designation of a charity as the beneficiary of all or part of your IRA (using a beneficiary designation form provided by your account custodian) the full value of the gift is transferred tax-free at your death and your estate receives an estate tax charitable deduction.
PLANNED GIVING – Gifts of Life Insurance
You originally bought life insurance for a specific purpose, but it’s possible that need has changed. You can name White Conch Dharma Center as the beneficiary. This provision will not provide any current tax advantages but the money passing to White Conch Dharma Center at the time of the insured’s death will qualify for federal estate tax charitable deduction.
PLANNED GIVING – Endowment Gifts
You can offer a special endowment grant from a foundation or charitable trust.
PLANNED GIVING – Gifts of Securities, Real Estate, Vehicles
Gifts of property are also welcomed. We recommend that your attorney help you write up specific instructions for the executor of your estate.
It is best if your executor sells the property on your behalf and donates the proceeds to White Conch Dharma Center. This is especially important if you live outside the U.S. It is good if White Conch Dharma Center has a copy of your executor instructions so that we can help to fully carry out your wishes.
