The Heart Sutra:  A Domo Geshe Rinpoche Teaching Event 2015

The foundation of this series is in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and techniques.

Location: Oglesby Building Conference Room, 706 E. Oglesby, Normal, IL  61761

“The Heart of the Perfection of Understanding” or simply The Heart Sutra is often cited as the best-known and most popular Buddhist scripture of all. It is much shorter than the other Perfection of Wisdom sūtras but it contains explicitly or implicitly the entire meaning of the longer Sutras. In English it is composed of sixteen sentences.  The teachings of the Heart Sutra are deep and subtle, and describe what is emptiness. His Holiness the 14th Dailai Lama said, “The existence of things and events is not in dispute; it is the manner in which they exist that must be clarified.”
