How to Pray for World Peace

SEMINAR

WC-041507ab How to Pray for World Peace

What if every moment that you spent being distraught over global conflict was instead spent creating positive change? How would you be different? How might the world be different? Bad news is plentiful, with daily headlines of tragedy on both personal and global scales. Indeed, there is much to be distraught over. It is easy to experience distress, anger, fear, helplessness, or even apathy in reaction to the seemingly overwhelming conflict and suffering in the world. What is your current reaction to this daily news? Have you ever prayed for peace? Whether you currently pray or not, you are invited to gain a new and unique perspective on prayer, to explore what prayer really is and why and how it works. On April 15, Domo Geshe Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist teacher, will teach about the power of prayer and how to pray effectively. Together, we will then accomplish powerful prayers for world peace! Prayers from many different traditions, including Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Native American and African traditions, will be recited and offered.

Rinpoche points out the different dynamics of praying individually and in a group. She discusses degrees of motivation in order to end suffering. Find out what is the true dynamic and motivation for praying for world peace.
